Skin care

I am not usually one to have time to wash my hair, let alone look after my skin. But every so often girls feel the need to do “girly things”… Tonight is one of those nights.

Being a single mum, also leaves me on a very tight budget. I haven’t bought any skin care products… Probably ever! With the exception on sunscreen.

I was at my sisters one night, and had the feeling to do something ‘girly’ so I started googling diy face masks and mud masks. A lot of them use lemon and other natural products… Also ingredients she didn’t have in her kitchen… I almost lost hope, when I stumbled across a mask which only used 1 ingredient… Well half an ingredient… An egg white.

Start by washing PR rinsing your fave with warm water. This will open your pores to get any dirt OR nasties out.

All you do is brush it on.. I used a basting brush :/

And brush the egg white onto your face, avoiding the areas close to your eyes. Then stick ripped up tissue…

On to your face… And TA-DA:

I’m a beautiful mummy! (See what I did there?! Haha)

When I first looked at this I was thinking probably what you are “ewwww I don’t want to smell like egg!!!”, so to ease your mind, you don’t and can hardly smell the egg. I think it all depends on how fresh the egg is.

So you leave it on to dry completely. 10-20 minutes. It will set like paper mache! Hard as a rock!
You then simply peel it off (im npt going to lie, this will stong a little) and wash your face with cold water. This is so you don’t cook any egg white left on your face, also to close the pores you just cleaned out.

So there is my 20 minute facial!

What a weekend

My. My. My… What a big last few days! I have been flat out!
Friday I was a Stepford Wife… Without a husband. A single Stepford Wife! Did a massive food shop, after not having any food for a week (lucky my parents live close so we just went over for dinner every night).
After I picked my eldest up from kindy at 3pm we had a snack at Noni and Grandpa’s and came home around 4-4:30.
I then proceeded to start baking. I made some home made LCM bars. I have to keep these and any other snack foods (including breakfast cereals) locked away in my bedroom because Master 2 and Master 4 would devour them in a day… Or a morning!

And some home made cheese and bacon rolls

It is now Sunday and I have no rolls left… So I’ll be making some more this afternoon. If anyone is after the recipes, let me know and I can post them. I may do a blog further down the rack with all my favorite recipes πŸ™‚

OK yesterday (Saturday) I got a ‘ME’ day. I asked the boys grandparents if they’d mind watching them for the day.
Which they don’t mind and they get to see their aunty and uncles at the use time.
So I did a really girly thing and got my nails done ☺

I forgot why I stopped getting them done when I was younger… Man they hurt! They get caught on everything and rip back! Ouch 😣
I also went to see The Hunger Games: The Mockingjay!! I was so so excited to see this! And I wasn’t disappointed! Great movie! Doesn’t leave you in complete suspense waiting for Part 2, but gives you just enough that you want to know what happens next… Without loosing your mind!
And yes, I went to see this on my own! This is a really big thing for me. The past few months my social anxiety has peaked.
Which is strange as I used to be a social butterfly! I was fine on my own. I even used to take myself out to restaurants, alone, at least once a week, if not more. This was all pre babies!
I grabbed a quick bite to eat before the movie and sat at a table in the food court. As I was eating my spring roll I noticed my entire body was shaking and I had to get out of there. Then started having an anxiety attack half way through the movie, with no trigger. But I sat it out and was fine after about half an hour.
Then picked up the boys and came home. Both were knackered and asleep by the time we got home!

Today has consisted of washing… And almost constant arguing with Master 4… Nap time can not come soon enough today! I read an blog the other day which was titled “sometimes your kids just need you” she talked about how sometimes they just need you there, to feel you next to them… I wondered if this woman was a single mother. A single mother who never actually gets a break, the only “time off” she gets is at bed time. Being a parent is tough. Being a single parent is REALLY tough. I’m lucky enough to have my parents close and they can help me a little but they don’t take them for the night, or the weekend. I am a parent 100% of the time.

Perhaps that’s what this blog is about… Me finding me again?

Introduction

hello hello πŸ™‚

welcome to my first blog… be patient with me as i am still unsure as to what i am doing.

to start off, here are a few key points in my life:

  • i am currently 26 years old.
  • i am a single mum to two beautiful (devils in disuse) little boys, aged 3 & 4.
  • i am also current studying a Bachelor of events, as a distance student.
  • i love to cook. i will cook and can cook just about anything.

all of these things will have more detail added to them as i continue blogging…. if anyone even ever reads this.

i think that is a bloggers biggest fear ‘what if no Β one ever see’s it?!!!’

i welcome any feedback, comments, ideas, anything you wish to know or for me to write about… not that i expect much feedback yet, or at all… only time will tell how successful i am as a blogger.

anyway that’s all for now… hopefully i can get this blog off the ground in no time πŸ™‚
